Abstract

The dependence on gadgets in early childhood is becoming an increasingly significant issue in today’s digital era, with negative impacts on children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. This study aims to examine the role of public health education in reducing the risk of gadget dependency in young children. The research was conducted using surveys, interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were collected from parents, health cadres, and early childhood education institutions in several communities. The findings show that 80% of parents who participated in public health education programs experienced positive changes in parenting practices, such as limiting screen time and increasing social interaction with their children. Education programs based on digital parenting counseling and community empowerment were proven to be effective in raising parents' awareness of the adverse effects of excessive gadget use. This study concludes that public health education plays a crucial role in reducing gadget dependency in young children and in creating an environment that supports optimal child development. Sustainable, community-based education programs must be further developed to strengthen public awareness of the importance of managing gadget use in everyday life.
