This article presents a theoretical study on ethnopedagogy as a foundational approach for multicultural education in Indonesia. The recurring incidents of SARA (ethnicity, religion, race, and intergroup) conflicts reveal the fragility of social cohesion in a culturally diverse nation. Multicultural education has emerged as a strategy to foster tolerance, social harmony, and inclusivity; however, its implementation often remains normative and detached from local cultural contexts. Ethnopedagogy, which emphasizes local wisdom and cultural values, offers a contextualized framework to strengthen multicultural education. By integrating moral, social, and spiritual values rooted in local culture into learning processes, students can better understand their own cultural heritage and develop respect for other cultures. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, reviewing literature from relevant sources to provide a conceptual framework for integrating ethnopedagogy into multicultural education. The findings suggest that ethnopedagogical values can enrich educational experiences, enhance character formation, prevent cultural conflicts, and promote a culturally grounded understanding of diversity.
