This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the application of the project-based learning model in improving students' numeracy skills in elementary school mathematics subjects as well as to determine the obstacles and solutions in implementing numeracy learning using the project-based learning approach in elementary school environments. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research type. The subjects of this study were fifth-grade elementary school students in Cirebon Regency, West Java. This study used a quasi-experimental design with an unequal pretest-posttest control group. Data collection methods included tests to measure students' understanding before and after the intervention and class participation observations. Based on the results of the study at the beginning of learning, students' numeracy skills were still said to be insufficient, learning was still not optimal and still had not reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) of 75. After using the project-based learning model, it showed a significant increase in solving elementary school mathematics problems.
